Try One of the Best Pizzas in the US!

 Every time we visit St. Augustine, my fiance and I make a stop at Pizza Time on St. George Street. Our first visit was in 2006, just a year after Domenico Conslignarnio opened this delicious Brooklyn-style pizza heaven.


The restaurant has free parking at the Spanish Street entrance (the St. George Street entrance is walk-in since there's no vehicle traffic on St. George), but we've never used the Spanish Street entrance. We always make this our lunch stop on the day we spend shopping along St. George. The St. George Street shopping day is a tradition for us every time we're in St. Augustine. It was during this shopping day on one of our recent trips that we made the decision to buy property in the St. Augustine area.

The restaurant makes each pizza with fresh ingredients, a true New York Style crust, and their own signature sauce from Roma tomatoes imported from Italy.

Pizzas are available by the slice. Whole made to order pies are available, although I do believe that availability may depend on how busy they are. We've never ordered a whole pie, but I have read some reviews that indicated whole pies weren't an option during some of the restaurant's busier hours.


In addition to pizzas, Pizza Time also includes calzones, cannolis, olive salad, and other Italian favorites on their menu. The garlic rolls pictured here are one of my favorite garlic breads from any of the Italian or pizza restaurants we've been to in our travels.

In 2015, Pizza Time was the second highest rated pizza in the US on TripAdvisor. I can easily see why. I'm a big fan of New York Style pizza, and my top two favorites from my travels across the US are both located in St. Augustine, this being one of them.

As a side note, the last time we were in St. Augustine, Pizza Time was still a cash only establishment, so be sure to have cash on hand if you decide to stop in.

There are 33 Ripley's Believe It or Not! museums across North America, but did you know that none of them were opened during Robert Ripley's lifetime? Or that the original and first odditorium is located in St. Augustine, Florida? Castillo de San Marcos, Defender of St. Augustine

The Castillo de San Marcos was built by the Spanish to defend St. Augustine, Florida, and the Atlantic trade route. As with many things in the oldest continuously occupied city in the United States, it is the oldest masonry fortress in the continental US and preserves more than 450 years of cultural intersections. Located on the western shore of the Matanzas Bay, its construction was ordered by Governor Francisco de la Guerra y de la Vega after a 1668 raid of St. Augustine by English privateer Robert Searles that destroyed much of the city and damaged the existing wooden fort. It was designed by Spanish engineer Ignacio Daza, with construction beginning in 1672. Construction of the core of the fortress was finished in 1695, although the fort would undergo many changes, additions, and renovations over the centuries.
